How PinchHitterPool works

PinchHitterPool is a global workforce hub in two domains — volunteer work and paid service — with internships as the on-ramp into the workforce. One account holds one role: you either offer your time and skills, or you recruit and hire. Every discoverable profile is verified three ways, and the platform never takes a commission.

If you volunteer, work, or intern (Service Provider)

  1. Subscribe free, pick volunteer, paid service, an internship, or any mix.
  2. Describe yourself with up to 5 approved keywords and a short About; link LinkedIn, Upwork, or your site for the full story.
  3. Validate once with a $1 card check — proof you're a real person, not a bot. No card? A subscribing member who knows you can validate you instead.
  4. Get discovered in your area, confirm engagements, and build verified hours, milestones, and $1 shareable certificates.

If you recruit or hire (Opportunity Provider)

  1. Subscribe as a business, nonprofit, or household.
  2. Verify your organization — Google Business Profile for businesses, LinkedIn for households — plus the $1 card check.
  3. Post opportunities free — volunteer, paid, or an internship (paid, stipend, or unpaid, stated up front); bring on 5 volunteers free every 30 days.
  4. Once you join, search a pool where every profile passed real verification; manage shifts, attendance, co-admins, and certificates.

Three proofs on every profile

1. SSO sign-in through Microsoft or Google — no passwords held. 2. A one-time $1 Stripe card validation — a real payment method stands behind every discoverable profile. 3. A public-presence link— LinkedIn for individuals and households, Google Business Profile for businesses. Unverified profiles simply aren't discoverable, which keeps bots, spam, and fake listings out of the pool. An optional 4th proof — SMS phone verification with country code — is planned as the community grows; numbers will stay private, with only a badge shown. Both sides then perform their own final checks and engage under their own terms; incidents are recorded on both parties' permanent records.

Flat fees. No commissions. Ever.

Volunteering is always free for volunteers, and organizations bring on 5 volunteers free every 30 days ($10/cycle for up to 10, $70 for up to 100). Paid-service providers never pay a job fee — the organization hiring pays it, capped at $9 however large the job — and $3/monthkeeps a profile discoverable. Engagement certificates cost $1, paid by either side; an internship reference letter costs $3, paid by the organization. PinchHitterPool never takes a percentage of anyone's work — small flat fees fund verification and keep the pool real. Full pricing.

Invite people, earn points

A pool is only useful when there are people in it. Invite someone you know and, when they join and complete the minimum validations that make a profile discoverable, you earn 1 point — worth 50¢. Points come off your own subscription, or combine into a $100 gift card at 200 points where cards are available. Anything left over stays on your balance.

One invitation at a time. No list upload, no address import, no bulk send. Someone typing a name they actually know is what keeps this a referral programme instead of a mailing tool — and keeps real invitations out of spam folders.

A 72-hour hold, then release. One pending invitation per address, so nobody gets invited six times. If they don't join, the address frees up and anyone can try again. Nobody can hoard addresses, and nobody gets stuck.

Earned on discoverability, not sign-up.If the person you invite doesn't finish verifying, no point is added — nobody can find them, so nothing has been added to the pool. Validating also costs them more than the reward pays, so there is nothing to farm, and one person can only ever earn a referral point once.

We never ask for your tax details. Subscription credit is applied to your own account instantly and requires nothing at all. Where gift cards are available they are issued by a payment partner, who contacts you directly for any verification their process needs — PinchHitterPool does not collect, see or store tax forms, taxpayer numbers or card codes. We don't give tax advice; if a reward raises a question about your own position, ask your accountant.

Every invitation email carries a one-click “don't invite me again”link that needs no account and stops invitations from everyone, permanently. Being invited doesn't sign anyone up — no account or profile is created, and an invited person appears nowhere on PinchHitterPool unless they choose to join.

Who it's for

A student lists themselves as an intern candidate and is found by organizations anywhere in the world; the posting says paid, stipend, or unpaid up front, the intern never pays a job fee, and the organization can issue a $3 reference letter at the end.

A household hires a verified helper for lawn care or a nanny — no agency, no commission, verified by LinkedIn and a real payment method.

A nonprofit or faith group recruits food-drive volunteers, manages shifts and attendance, and issues verifiable certificates with logged hours.

A local restaurant or store covers a weekend gap from the pool — posting is free, and every candidate is triple-verified.

A volunteer with two hours lists their skills and availability so any verified organization nearby can find them; every hour builds their record and milestones.

A side-hustler offers evening skills — remote, onsite, or hybrid — and never pays a job fee.

A corporate team finds skilled short-term help by approved keyword — react, plumbing, bookkeeping, tutoring — scoped by country, state, and postal code, worldwide.
